PRIVACY POLICY
How we look after the small amount of personal information you share with us, and the rights you have over it.
Last updated: June 2026
Fearann Alba provides drone services, film and photography, and digital reconstructions of historic sites across Scotland. We take your privacy seriously and we deliberately collect as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are
Fearann Alba (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We operate across Scotland and are based in Dumfries & Galloway.
If you have any questions about this policy or about how we handle your information, you can reach us at info@lostsites360.com.
2. The information we collect
We only collect the personal information you choose to give us when you get in touch. In practice that means:
- Your email address — so we can reply to you.
- The contents of your message — any details you decide to include when you email us or fill in our contact form, such as your name or a description of the work you have in mind.
We do not ask for, and we do not knowingly collect, any sensitive personal information, payment card details through the website, or information about anyone under the age of 16.
3. How we collect it
We receive your information directly from you, when you:
- send us an email; or
- complete and submit the contact form on this website.
We do not buy contact details from anyone else and we do not gather your information from third parties.
4. Why we use it & our lawful basis
We use the information you send us for one purpose only: to read your enquiry and to reply to you about it. We do not use your email address for marketing, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on the following lawful bases for doing this:
- Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract — where your enquiry is about work you may want us to carry out.
- Our legitimate interests — namely responding to enquiries and dealing with the people who contact us, in a way you would reasonably expect when you get in touch.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not pass it to any third party for their own use.
The only exception is the technical providers that make our website and email work — for example our website host and email provider — who may store the information on our behalf and strictly under our instructions. We may also disclose information if we are required to do so by law.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your message only for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows from it. If your enquiry does not lead to us working together, we delete it once it is clearly no longer needed. Where an enquiry does lead to work, we may keep related correspondence for a reasonable period afterwards in case we need to refer back to it.
7. How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and to prevent it being accessed or used by anyone who should not have it. No method of sending information over the internet is ever completely secure, but we will always treat the small amount of information you share with us with care.
8. Cookies & the website
Our website uses only the essential cookies needed for it to work properly. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, and we do not run advertising trackers. Your web browser also lets you block or delete cookies if you prefer.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict or stop using your information;
- object to us using your information; and
- where it applies, ask us to provide your information in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, just email us at info@lostsites360.com. We will not charge you, and we will respond within one month.
10. How to complain
We would always rather you came to us first so we can put things right. But if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example if the way we work changes. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of the page. Please check back occasionally to stay informed.
12. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about how we handle your information, please email us at info@lostsites360.com. We will be glad to help.
